Logical Filing Systems–That EVERYONE Uses!!

I cannot stress the importance of having a uniform filing system in an office situation. So often people’s ideas of what is the best filing method will vary greatly, from alphabetical to subject based, from cross-referencing by department to client-oriented, I’ve seen it all. Each system obviously has its merits and makes sense to the individual, but no filing system works unless everyone uses the same one! In order to streamline and prevent clutter, decide on one filing system, have instructions on how to file using the system clearly marked above the filing cabinet and implement it. It may take a while and some hard labour to convert all the files to the new system, but when you do you’ll find you’ve got more room and a fail-safe way to find what you’re looking for when you need it!
