So, the removalists have just finished up, you’ve managed to unpack (most of) your belongings, and you’re finally standing in your new home, having survived the hell that is moving house. So, what are you going to do now? You could get a start on the garden, set up your new appliances, or…start planning your housewarming bash! Now that’s more like it. After the stress of moving in you want to unwind, plus you also want a chance to show off your new pad to all and sundry, sooo…. a housewarming party is the perfect solution! Housewarming parties are a lot of fun, but can also be a lot of work, so here are some tips to ensure yours is one to remember!

Set Your Boundaries

It’s tempting sometimes to let the entire party spread to every corner of the house, but trust me, this will magnify the cleanup effort and ensure that your home quickly loses that ‘new’ feeling. Make the bedrooms out-of-bounds, and if you have carpets in the living areas, consider putting down a bright rug or two to protect it from all the thoroughfare–and red wine spills! It’s also a good idea to put some easily accessible recycling stations around the place–the less empty bottles there are lying around, the less work it’s going to be for you in the morning!
