Packing Tips
Packing Items Securely and Safely
Comments
You may think you are all organised for your move and have bought a new home and organised for all of your utilities to be disconnected. Unless you have organised interstate removalists for a big move you may have to pack some things yourself. Your main goal is to get everything to its destination in one piece so you want to pack it properly.
This does not just mean the items in the boxes themselves or protecting large items. You also have to consider your own safety when travelling to your new home. This means securing everything safely or having it packed properly in a truck and never ever overloading your car or trailer.

What to Throw Away for Your Move
Comments
Before you move you will have to throw away, sell or give away many of your household items. This will usually depend on how long you have been at the address as to how much clutter you have accumulated. While interstate removalists are happy to assist moving everything for you, you may not want all of your current belongings in your new home.
You also have to keep in mind the cost of moving so many extra items. Try to make a good moving list of what you want to keep so that you can assume most other items are ‘negotiable’. If you have a family have them go around the house and see what they wish to keep.
It is a good idea to put bright stickers on what you want to come with you.
What to Keep For Your Move
Comments
What do you keep for your big house move? While you might say ‘everything’ now, once you have started packing you may want to be more selective. So what are the essentials when telling the interstate removalists what to pack up for you?
Keep the following in mind:
- The more you have the harder it is to move.
- You will be moving to a new home for a fresh start.
- Some items may be extremely difficult to move.
- Other items you will need immediately once you move.

Removalists packing boxes are particularly useful, and they’ve got a lot more value than just moving. They’re stackable, packable, and storable. That can create a lot of space, both when you’ve just moved in and afterwards.

How to Start Packing Early to Avoid a Last-Minute Panic

Moving is a stressful time, and more often than not it’s something we’d much rather have done for us. So when it comes to moving, and planning for the move, most people are very good at procrastinating. And unless you’re paying someone else to do the hard work, it’s all up to you. It’s important to get stuck in early.
If you leave no time for anything but a hurried last minute pack a few days before (or even the night before) the removalists arrive, the results can be disastrous — from broken belongings to things just being plain old lost. Your possessions are precious and — presumably — you will want them intact when they arrive at their destination.
